Tips & Techniques
Important: When using Duo for gilding, dry pigments and embossing, always allow it to dry completely. It will turn clear and tacky.
  • GILDING - Cover most any surface with Duo. Let dry. Apply Gildenglitz and burnish with a Texture Sponge. Save all the excess Gildenglitz fines-they can be used over and over again.

  • 'ALLUSION' GILDING - Follow the "gilding" steps above. Apply Perfect Paper Adhesive - Matte to a piece of Cut N' Dry - Foam Pad. Use the pad to apply the PPA to a rubber stamp. Stamp quickly directly onto the gilded surface. Wash stamp and let dry. Notice how the PPA changes the color of the Gildenglitz. The purples and pinks will show the change of color the best.

  • EMBOSSED GILDING - Follow the "gilding" steps above. Apply Duo to a Cut N' Dry - Foam Pad. Use the pad to apply the Duo to a rubber stamp. Stamp quickly directly onto the gilded surface. Let the Duo dry and sprinkle with clear fine embossing powder. Heat emboss and let cool.

  • RUBBER STAMPING - Apply Duo to small piece of a Cut N' Dry - Foam Pad. Use the pad to apply the Duo to a rubber stamp. Stamp quickly onto surface and wash stamp immediately. (Excess dried Duo can be removed with rubbing alcohol). Let the adhesive dry and apply Gildenglitz or dry pigments. Burnish with a Texture Sponge.

  • 'CONFETTI' BACKGROUND PAPER - Cover a surface with Duo. Let dry. Dip the tip of a dry brush into Pearl Ex. Tap the pigment over the dry Duo. Repeat this process with several colors until the entire card is covered with Pearl Ex "dots." Flip the card over and tap lightly. Brush off excess Pearl Ex using a dry brush.

  • CALLIGRAPHY & DRAWING - Put a few drops of Duo into The Fine Liner. Tap onto scrap paper to start the adhesive flowing. Write or draw out design. Let dry and apply Pearl Ex dry pigments and/or Gildenglitz.
