Northern Lights Technique

Materials List

  • Pearl Ex - Any Color
  • Perfect Paper Adhesive - Matte
  • Krylon Leafing Pen - Any Color
  • Texture Sponge
  • Studio Cup
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Glossy black card stock
Directions
  1. Mix 1 part Pearl Ex, 4 parts rubbing alcohol and a drop of Perfect Paper Adhesive - matte together in a Studio Cup. Mix 2 or 3 seperate colors.
  2. Apply mixture to glossy card stock using a Texture Sponge. Large puddles of color -or- a delicate sponge texture both work fine.
  3. Drip or pump a Krylon Leafing Pen onto the wet paint. Let dry.

    Variations
    Variations of this technique include adding Perfect fx Flakes or leaving the leafing pen out and letting the paint dry to a marbleized look.
