Pearl-Ex pigments
are non-toxic powdered pigments that exhibit extreme colorfastness and
stability. Ideal for interior, exterior and archival applications, they
can be incorporated into virtually any viscous medium.
IN
A POWDER FORM
|
- Pearl Ex
can be used like any pastel. Apply with a finger, cotton swab,
brush, sponge or sponge-tipped applicator.

AS
AN ACRYLIC PAINT
- Mix Pearl
Ex with Perfect Paper Adhesive (PPA) or
any acrylic medium. Keep in small airtight jars for reuse as
an acrylic paint.
- Allow the Pearl
Ex and PPA mixture to dry in a Studio
Cup. This can be peeled from the cup, then stamped,
embossed, torn, collaged, punched and decoratively cut.
- Drizzle the mixture
onto art projects. Use in conjunction with a sprinkle of Perfect
fx - mica flakes and granules, or heat it when embossing
powder is applied.

AS
A WATERCOLOR PAINT
- Mix Pearl
Ex with Gum Arabic and distilled water.
Use it as any other watercolor.
- Pre-make puddles
of Pearl Ex, Gum Arabic and water and pour them
into plastic palette wells. Allow to dry and reconstitute as
needed.

AS
AN OIL PAINT
- Mix Pearl
Ex into any alkyd or oil-based paint to achieve a metallic
brilliance and sheen.

AS
A LATEX PAINT
- Mix Pearl
Ex into a clear latex or acrylic medium and then apply
to any latex painted wall or surface to achieve a glazed glow.

AS
AN ENCAUSTIC or WAXING MEDIUM
- Apply Pearl
Ex to the surface of finished waxes, mix into clear
or colored rubbing waxes, or mix it in as wax is being heated.
- Mix a touch of Pearl
Ex into melted crayons for a pearlescent encaustic medium.

AS
A CUSTOMIZED EMBOSSING POWDER
- Using a small lidded
jar, simply mix Pearl Ex into a fine embossing
powder. Shake well before each application. When possible, heat
embossing powders from the bottom.

AS
A POLYMER OR AIR-DRY CLAY COLORANT
- Apply Pearl
Ex to a clay surface, or mix into polymer and air-dry
clays, such as ClayWorks.
